How Clear, How Lovely Bright
by A. E. Housman
How clear, how lovely bright,
How beautiful to sight
Those beams of morning play;
How heaven laughs out with glee
Where, like a bird set free,
Up from the eastern sea
Soars the delightful day.
To-day I shall be strong,
No more shall yield to wrong,
Shall squander life no more;
Days lost, I know not how,
I shall retrieve them now;
Now I shall keep the vow
I never kept before.
Ensanguining the skies
How heavily it dies
Into the west away;
Past touch and sight and sound
Not further to be found,
How hopeless under ground
Falls the remorseful day.

This poem is
in the public domain.
Most of Ioannina landmark buildings have been destroyed due to human or natural disasters of the past and the unbridled, often uncontrolled modern constructions.
The registration and regular updating of the documentation of buildings dated in the Post-Byzantine/Ottoman period of the city (1430-1913) and still standing, aims at their preservation and protection from human intervention, intentional or not, offering at the same time a useful and flexible tool for the State body to ergonomically and effectively manage cultural heritage.
The Buildings at Risk section has a crowdsourcing character: nevertheless, the final registration of the crowdsourced information will be reviewed and cross-examined by the researchers involved.
